Definition of Parts of Speech: 

The part of speech indicates how the word functions in meaning as well as grammatical within the sentence. Parts of Speech can be defined as words that perform different roles in a sentence.

(Parts of Speech বা পদ প্রকরণ বলতে বোঝায় সেই সমস্ত শব্দকে যা একটি বাক্যে বাবহার হয়ে বাক্য কে মানে প্রদান করে। তাহলে Parts of Speech হল সেই শব্দগুলি যাহা বাক্যে আলাদা আলাদা দায়িত্বে থাকে, এবং বাক্য কে পরিণীতি দান করে।) 

Types of Parts of Speech:

I.            Noun. (বিশেষ্য)

II.            Pronoun. (সর্বনাম) 

III.            Adjective. (নাম বিশেষণ) 

IV.            Verb. (ক্রিয়া বা কাজ)

V.            Adverb. (ক্রিয়া বিশেষণ) 

VI.            Preposition. (পদান্বয়ী অব্যয়)

VII.           Conjunction. (সংযোজক অব্যয়) 

VIII.           Interjection. (আবেগ সূচক অব্যয়)
